From the design and engineering to production and installation, Hartmark's heart and hand is behind it all.

Our purpose is to serve our industry, market, and community to make it a better place by utilizing all of our talents, experiences, and resources. We understand the only way to be better at what we do is by serving the needs and goals of others.
THE PROCESS

STEP 1 - THE BID
To begin the process, one of our account managers will consult with the customer to gather basic information about the design to produce a bid. Once the bid has been approved and signed by the customer, Hartmark will begin the design process. At this stage we will collect everything for our Information Checklist
STEP 2 - JOB CONFIRMATION
After Hartmark’s contract has been signed and the deposit has been received, the job is added to our production calendar with a temporary reservation date. The size and material specifications of each job will determine the lead time or “production countdown” which is anywhere between 6-12 weeks. The lead time will not start until all information on the Information Checklist has been received.
STEP 3 - ORDER Q.C. PROCESSING
Once a job is contracted and confirmed, each job order is inspected by our order processing team to confirm all specifications and information is correct and ready for our engineering team. If Hartmark has received all required information, the job will then receive a true production date and the production countdown will begin.
STEP 4 - ENGINEERING
Our production engineers inspect and prepare all parts for optimization and downloading into our automated machinery.
STEP 5 - PRODUCTION
Once the materials are received, they are cut on our state-of-the-art CNC machinery and finished in house using eco-friendly materials. Finally, all parts are assembled in house and shipped to their destination.
STEP 6 - INSTALLATION
For jobs that have contracted to include installation, will have our field team onsite to install the cabinets for the pre-scheduled timeframe.
STEP 7 - FINAL PHASE
Once installation is complete our technician will be scheduled to do final touch-up and adjustments. If the option to add knobs and pulls was contracted, those will be installed at this phase.

HARTMARK CABINET DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING

Founder, Gary Hartmark, inherited his love and skill for fine woodworking through his family, going back generations. His grandfather, Einer Harkmark, came to the U.S. from the town of Harkmark, Norway, at the age of 18. Due to the difficulty of the pronunciation of the name, he changed Harkmark to Hartmark. Although he was a pastor, he was also a master artisan of fine woodworking. He loved to help his community in Minnesota by building churches and homes for people in need. Einer passed this trade down to Gary's father, Stanley, who was also a natural entrepreneur. Together, Stanley and Gary's mother, Audrey, not only taught him the ins and outs of being a business owner, but also a strong work ethic and the importance of quality work with integrity in all he does.

From a young age, it was evident that Gary had the natural gifts of design and engineering. Whether he was building intricate model airplanes and cars or designing and shaping surfboards, he always loved the challenge and reward of the finished product. At age 16, when Gary wasn't surfing, he was hard at work learning the craft of cabinetry and woodworking the "old school" way from a close mentor of his. By the age of 23, he started working closely with a dedicated artisan who taught him the art of making heirloom furniture and floor clocks with high-quality wood finishes. Gary worked hard to eventually become the senior production manager for that company, and it was then that he discovered his passion and love for furniture making and fine finishes combined with efficient manufacturing techniques.

In the early 80s, Gary spent all of his free time putting together his own Porsche Speedster kit car, taking him over two years to finish. Later in 1986, soon after getting married, Gary and his wife, Marnell, put a down payment on the heirloom furniture company with money they collected from selling the hand-built Porsche. Once the company was theirs, they changed the name to Hartmark and eventually expanded to manufacturing furniture-quality custom cabinetry at a high production volume.

When asked what specific part of the process he enjoys the most, Gary has a hard time picking just one: design, engineering, production... he truly loves it all. However, if you asked him what he is most proud of, he would say his seven amazing children and his four grandchildren to date. What fuels Gary the most is his gratitude to his good Heavenly Father, amazing wife and business partner, loving parents, family, and all his mentors that have played such a significant role in Hartmark's success.
